TECBEAM Capability

TECBEAM’s span capability  and incredible stiffness are due to the two-way floor structure that combines TECBEAM joists and perpendicular strongbacks.

The strongbacks are secured to the joists by wedges. They can also be positioned in locations of point loads to spread that load across the joists.

This example of a 5.5m span in a new firts storey addition to a heritage building was accomplished with 250mm deep TECBEAM joists also easily carried the extra dead load of AAC floor panels.
